What is Slab Grading?
Authentication
Grading companies verify that collectibles are genuine, not counterfeit or altered. Expert authenticators examine each item before it receives a grade. This protects buyers and sellers in the secondary market.
Grading
A numeric grade is assigned based on the item's condition — centering, corners, edges, surface quality, and overall eye appeal. Higher grades indicate better preservation and command higher market values.
Encapsulation
Graded items are sealed in tamper-evident plastic holders called "slabs." Each slab has a unique certification number that links to the item's grade and details, enabling instant verification by anyone.
Track your graded collection
Add slabs from any grading company. Snap a photo or enter a cert number — Slabbed handles the rest.
