AGS uses a numeric grading scale to evaluate card condition.

Grade Label Description
10 Gem Mint Virtually perfect across all 8 subgrades. The AI system detects no meaningful imperfections. Top marks in centering, corners, edges, surface, shape, gloss, print quality, and focus.
9.5 Mint+ Near-perfect with extremely minor imperfections in one or two subgrade areas. A premium card by any standard.
9 Mint Outstanding condition with very minor flaws detected by the 3D scanning system. Strong scores across all 8 subgrades.
8.5 Near Mint-Mint+ Excellent card with minor imperfections. May show slight centering variance or microscopic corner touches.
8 Near Mint-Mint High-quality card with light wear detected. Minor corner, edge, or surface measurements below premium thresholds.
7 Near Mint Slight wear across one or more subgrade categories. Minor corner rounding or edge issues measurable by the scanning system.
6 Excellent-Near Mint Light to moderate wear. Several subgrades show measurable imperfections.
5 Excellent Moderate wear detected across multiple subgrades. Visible corner, edge, and surface issues.
1-4 Good to Very Good Significant wear measured across most subgrade categories. Heavy damage or handling evident.
